Perfect gear designs can minimize noise from gearboxes and increase their efficiency. Among other topics, experts will discuss current developments and effects on gear measuring technology with Klingelnberg specialists at the 5th VDI Conference, "Gear Measuring Technology", on Sept. 23-24, 2014 in Nürtingen, Germany (near Stuttgart).
The focal point of the conference is the question of how Industry 4.0 and globalization influence measuring technology. Since the production of gearboxes is increasingly networked, both internationally and digitally, individual production stages require accurate measured data.
Among other topics, the concept of convenient roughness measurements will be a focal point at the conference. Graduate Engineer Günter Mikoleizig, Head of Product Management for Measuring Devices at Klingelnberg, will cite the importance of these parameters for the reliable functioning of bevel gears, as well as how corresponding measurements can be carried out conveniently and quickly. "With the help of a video, I will discuss a practically oriented range of applications for cylinder and bevel gears in my speech," explains Mikoleizig.
In addition, Doctor of Engineering Marcus Stolz, Division Manager of Measuring Devices at Klingelnberg, will discuss how gear measuring centres support lean manufacturing. This presentation will be part of a block focused on bevel gears. In his presentation, Stolz will focus on integrated bevel gear measurement: "I will present new operating concepts for gear measurement software and new approaches for evaluating tooth roots. Conference attendees are sure to find this interesting."
Last but not least, Klingelnberg will also have a small exhibition booth in Nürtingen this year. In addition to the lecture series, interested conference participants are encouraged to discuss individual questions regarding gear measuring technology with the expert team from Klingelnberg.
